The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
Through the generosity of our members and guests, principally at the Poppy Ball and supplemented by donations given at the QBBF November luncheon, the sum of QR38,000 for the Annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal was raised and will be sent to the Appeal HQ in the UK.
A Poppy Ball, held on Thursday 16th November at the Ramada Hotel, was a great success with an attendance of 380 including the British Ambassador, Mr. Simon Collis and Mrs. Sandra Kelly who graciously presented the prizes to the lucky winners. An evening of entertainment kept the dance floor busy until the early hours of Friday morning
Raffle prizes very generously donated were 2 return flights to UK, donated by QBBF, Family Gold membership of the Bay Club, donated by the InterContinental Hotel, Family membership of the Cabana Club, donated by Ramada Hotel, 2 night weekend stay in a Premier Room including breakfast, donated by Four Seasons Hotel, Tiffany watch, donated by International Bank of Qatar, Rental of 5 Blokarts for 1 hour, donated by Blokarts, 4 rounds of golf, donated by the Golf Club, Phantom Evening chauffeured in a Rolls-Royce Phantom, donated by Alfardan Automobiles, Dinner for 2 at the Intercontinental, donated by Rumaillah Group, vouchers for Sandboard hire, donated by Qatar Dune Riders, Half day charter with skipper, donated by the Regatta Sailing Club and 32 inch Wall Hanging LCD flat screen TV, donated by HSBC Bank.
