July Lunch

The July lunch will be held on Monday 7th July at 12:30pm at the Ramada Plaza. The speaker for this event has been confirmed as Jerry Parr from Air Partners.

Jerry was born in the British Military Hospital at Rinteln West Germany on 12th February 1949.

On completion of secondary education he joined the Royal Air Force College at Cranwell, as a career officer, in October 1967; commissioned as a pilot in February 1970 he then completed advanced flying training on the Folland Gnat before joining the Lightning Operational Conversion Unit in spring 1972. Following 2 tours on this aircraft he became an Advanced Flying Instructor at RAF Valley in January 1977 where he served for 4 years.  On completion of that tour he re-roled to the Jaguar Strike/Attack aircraft and served at RAF Bruggen in Germany up to June 1985.  There followed Advanced Staff College a variety of staff appointments and a command flying tour running the tactical fighter weapons school at RAF Chivenor. Following a further tour in the Central Staff of the MOD he applied for, and was granted, redundancy in September 1996.

After a brief sabbatical he took a new appointment as the Assistant Director of Royal Travel in Buckingham Palace with responsibility for reducing Royal travel costs.  This achieved he left in November 1999 to join Air Partner plc where he runs the Emergency Planning Division.

Married with 2 grown up sons Jerry lives in Malvern Worcestershire.
